Aatral Ashok Kumar was announced as the candidate of the AIADMK for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on the recommendation of former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Edappadi K Palaniswami.
As far as Erode Lok Sabha constituency is concerned, it was widely talked that Aatral Ashok will be fielded as the candidate from the beginning because he is constantly interested in public welfare issues. He has earned a good reputation among the people for his continuous public welfare activities such as Aatral Hospital, Aatral Pharmacy, Aatral Restaurant. The party leadership has given him the opportunity to contest the election saying that if he wins the Lok Sabha elections on behalf of AIDMK, he will do many better things for the people. The candidate introductory meeting was held at the AIDMK headquarters in Erode district. Former Minister K.V. Ramalingam, former MLA Thennarasu and party office-bearers, District, Regional Area In-charges and many others were also present.
