ICOP on Voter Awareness Central Govt schemes Women empowerment by CBC at Thanjavur

Central Bureau of Communication under Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting organized Integrated Communication Outreach Programme ICOP on Voter Awareness, Central govt schemes, women empowerment at Arignar Anna centenary Hall Thanjavur on Thursday.

Shri K Ravindran FPA Thanjavur welcomed the gathering. He said that the ICOP is orgainsed by CBC in coordination with various central and state govt departments.

Shri K Devi Padmanabhan Field Publicity Officer Tiruchirappalli in his introductory address said that India is largest democracy in the world and voter awareness is important to strengthen democracy. He urged first time voters to be part of democracy and pointed out that Election Commission is making arrangements to senior citizens and differently abled persons to vote from their home itself  He spoke about National Science Day, World TB day and International Day of women. He stressed that Beti Bachao Beti Padhao has helped in progress of women with education. He spoke about Viksit Bharat @2047 and aim of the nation to become developed nation. He said that Polio immunization drive is going to be held this Sunday and urged people to give polio drops to all children upto 5 years of age.

ICDS PO Smt Rajeswari spoke on nutritious food and importance of taking healthy breakfast. She spoke about various govt schemes for welfare of women especially girl child.

Deputy Director TB DR Madhavi spoke about various schemes to eradicate TB. She said that mobile TB detection vans are being operated in Thanjavur to diagnose TB and give proper treatment. 

IOB RSETI Thanjavur Director Smt Alamelu spoke about various training programmes being held through Rural Self employment training Institute.

FPA Thanjavur Shri S Arunkumar rendered vote of thanks. Thanjavur CDPO Smt Philomena Shanthi Thanjai Poondi AVVM SriPushpam College NSS Programme Officer Dr Saravanan participated in the function. Students who won in various competitions were given prizes. Pamphlets and notices on central govt schemes were distributed. Cloth bags were distributed to create awareness on avoiding usage of plastic. As part of prepublicity Central Bureau of Communication organized awareness programme in Poondi Thoppu village Thanjavur district on Wednesday. FPO Tiruchirappalli spoke on National Science Day Raman effect and importance of voter awareness. FPA Thanjavur Shri K Ravindran FPA Trichy Shri S Arunkumar spoke on central govt schemes. NSS students of AVVM SriPushpam college and villagers participated in the programme. Cloth bags and notices on central govt schemes were distributed.
