Govt of Tamilnadu Erode Poombucar Sales Center conducting Kolu Dolls Exhibition and Sale. This sale will be held from 16.09.2024 to 25.10.2024.
Erode Corporation Commissioner Mr.Manish IAS inaugurated the exhibition by lighting the lamp and visited Kolu puppets.
The exhibition includes dolls made of paper pulp and clay. Lakshmi Ganesh, Saraswati, Durgai, Mahabharata scene, Dakshinamurthy, Lakshmi Narayanan, Dasavatharam, Ashtalakshumi, Meenakshi Thirukalyanam set, Lord Krishna, Charakayas Chakrathalwar, Standing Garuda, Amman Seva, Adipura Amman, Atthivaradhar Ramanujar, Kanchi Maha Periyavar, A two-foot-tall Chennai Kapaleeswarar Kalikambal made of sound maidens and paper pulp, and countless Kolu dolls like Panchabula Sthalas, Arupadaiveedu and others are on sale.
This year the new Pudhu Amman, Ashtavaraghi, Ayodhya Rama, Surya Ratham, Chatur Pooja Garudalwar, Kannappa Nayanar Set, Thillana Mohanampal Set, Trichy Uchippillaiyar Set, Kubera Perumal Set, etc.are included. Kolu toys are on sale at the fair, ranging from Rs 100 to Rs 20,000. The 10 % discount is also offered on Kolu toys on display. The sales target of Poombukar's Kolu Toy Fair has been fixed at 14 lakhs, said its manager K. Arun.
