Supply of Equipment to Govt Schools by Annamalai University

Annamalai University, marching towards its centenary, has been focusing not only on education and research but also on social development. It has  initiated a social service program for the five-year period from 2022-2027 with the aim of enhancing the development of tribal and indigenous communities. The university is collaborating with the India Team Seattle Chapter (USA) and the Tribal Welfare Department, Tamil Nadu Government, to implement programs aimed at improving the standards of government schools for the tribals students.


As part of this initiative, with the support of the India Team Seattle Chapter (USA), a donation of equipment worth Rs. 55,000 will be given to Government Middle School in MGR Nagar, Killai village, Cuddalore district. The order for this donation was handed over today, September 19, 2024, by the Vice-Chancellor Dr. RM. Kathiresan to Mr. Kumaravel, the headmaster of the school. This initiative will benefit more than 153 students attending the school.


The event was attended by Dr. S. Arivudai Nambi, Director, Internal Quality Assurance Cell, Dr. S. Ramesh Kumar, Deputy Directors, Internal Quality Assurance Cell, Dr. Aravind Babu, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Information, along with Dr. K. Jayaprakash, Project Coordinator and Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Information. At the conclusion of the event, Vice-Chancellor Dr. RM. Kathiresan expressed his gratitude to mr. Devaraj Muthukumarasamy, Head of the India Team Seattle Chapter (USA). The event was organized by Mrs. Lavanya.
