IMDb has released its lists of the Most Popular Indian Movies of 2025 So Far and the Most Anticipated Indian Movies scheduled for release between July and December 2025. The rankings are based on the page views of more than 250 million monthly IMDb users worldwide, reflecting audience interest in Indian cinema.
Leading the list of the Most Popular Indian Movies of 2025 So Far is Chhaava. The remaining titles in the top 10 are Dragon, Deva, Raid 2, Retro, The Diplomat, L2: Empuraan, Sitaare Zameen Par, Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh, and VidaaMuyarchi. The rankings include films released in India between January 1 and July 1, 2025, with an average IMDb user rating of at least 6 and a minimum of 10,000 user votes.
For the second half of the year, Coolie has emerged as the Most Anticipated Indian Movie, followed by War 2, The Raja Saab, Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, Saiyaara, Baaghi 4, Son of Sardaar 2, Hridayapoorvam, Mahavatar Narsimha, and Alpha.
The lists also highlight actors and filmmakers associated with multiple titles. Mohanlal features in both L2: Empuraan and the upcoming Hridayapoorvam. Pooja Hegde appears in Deva and Retro and will also star in Coolie, while Ajay Devgn leads Raid 2 and is set to appear in Son of Sardaar 2. The month of July will also mark the acting debuts of Ahaan Panday in Saiyaara and Shanaya Kapoor in Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan.
Among the year's most popular films so far, six are Hindi, three are Tamil, and one is Malayalam. The most anticipated list comprises six Hindi films, along with one Tamil, one Telugu and one Malayalam title, while Mahavatar Narsimha is slated for release in five languages.
