Karnataka emerged as the National Champions at the Bharat Trophy 2026, defeating defending champions Tamil Nadu 11–10 in a closely fought final at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Chennai. Usha International supported the three-day Ultimate (Flying Disc) championship as part of its continued commitment to promoting sports and active lifestyles across India.
Organised by India Ultimate (Flying Disc Sports Federation – India), the tournament, held from August 28 to 30, featured 11 teams representing Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Delhi, Odisha, West Bengal, Uttarakhand and Telangana. The event brought together nearly 250 athletes and 40 support staff, reflecting the growing participation and popularity of Ultimate across the country.
Gujarat secured third place in the championship, while Karnataka also claimed the Spirit of the Game title. The award recognises the core values of Ultimate, including fair play, communication, mutual respect and self-officiating.
Shri Praveen Chakravarty, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, attended the closing ceremony and felicitated the winners. Mr. V Madhvan and Mr. U Manohar represented Usha International at the event. UshaPlay was the Official Disc Partner for Bharat Trophy 2026.
Komal Mehra, Head – Sports Initiatives and Associations, Usha International, said the championship showcased the potential of Flying Disc to bring diverse communities together through an inclusive, gender-neutral and accessible sporting platform.
Sangeetha Manoharan, President, India Ultimate, said Bharat Trophy is an important step towards strengthening state-level sporting structures, expanding opportunities for athletes and building a national competition pathway.
