This is the second time in a row that the National Institute of Siddha at Tambaram Sanatorium has been awarded quality accreditation for NABH-Hospitals by the Bureau of Indian Standards, Delhi. The certificate awarding ceremony was held yesterday in the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India by its Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha. The meeting was presided over by the Secretary in the presence of Special Secretary Mr. Pramod Kumar Pathak, IAS. NABH CEO Mr. Atul Mohan Kochhar, Director and its top officials along with the Director, National Institute of Siddha Prof. Dr. R. Meena Kumari. The NABH handed over the re-accreditation certificate through the Secretary, Ministry of Ayush to the NIS team headed by the Director, NIS and the team comprising the Hospital Superintendent, Additional Hospital Superintendent and Chief Nursing Officer.
On the occasion, the Ayush Secretary appreciated the performance of the National Institute of Siddha, its services, the number of daily patients and the average medical infrastructure facilities at the all-India level and urged everyone to visit the Institute. He also encouraged the institute to perform much better than all the Ayush medical institutions in India. NABH CEO Mr. Atul Mohan Kochhar, speaking on the occasion, said that all the services of the hospital are of the highest quality and that the institute cater good service to the people. After receiving the NABH Re-Accreditation Certificate, the Director of the Institute congratulated and thanked all those who worked tirelessly to obtain this certificate. She added that, as a next step, everyone should work diligently to get NABL quality certification for the clinical laboratories functioning in the hospital.
Following this, the General Council and The Executive Committee of the National Institute of Siddha and the Central Council of Siddha Research, the country's premier institutions for siddha medicine, will be held on May 9, 2018, at the seminar room of the National Institute of Siddha. Senior officials such as Secretary, Special Secretary, Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor, Secretary, Health Department, Government of Tamil Nadu, Siddha Medical Officers with high responsibilities will attend the event. In these meetings, discussions and decisions will be taken on the development of these two institutions, infrastructure facilities and siddha medical research. The development plans required to take up the Siddha system of medicine across the country will be discussed.
