As the inaugural event of Har Ghar Tiranga-2023, a grand Women Rally was organized by the Postal Department on behalf of Chennai City North Postal Division.
On 08.08.2023, starting from Anna Nagar Round turn at 08.00 AM and proceeding to Anna Nagar Main Post Office, women’s team of Postal Department, Chennai City North Division gathered in pure white dress and marched to proclaim national unity and pride, carried with the Indian national flags. As per directives of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Har Ghar Tiranga awareness was created amongst general public.
At the end of the rally, the tricolor was handed over at Annanagar Post office to Ms. Anita Pauldurai, Former captain of the National Women’s Basketball Team and Padma Shri awardee at Annanagar Post Office. Mr. K. Lekshamanan Pillai, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices., Chennai City North Division has explained the importance of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga‘ to everyone and Mrs. Anitha Pauldurai presented a motivational speech about the importance of the 76th Independence Day, the pride of Har Ghar Tiranga and empowerment of women.
Assistant Superintendent of Posts Ms. Muthumari gave the vote of thanks. Thanked everyone who participated and contributed for the success of the rally.
In connection with hoisting of Tricolor Flags at every houses, from 13.08.2023 to 15.08.2023, National flags are being sold for Rs. 25/- at Post offices and also through Online portal from 01.08.2023 - 12.08.2023.
