On the occasion of 76th National Independence day celebrations, the Government of India has launched “Har Ghar Tiranga 2.0” campaign to encourage people to bring home the tri-colour flags. Department of Posts has been given the task of utilising its vast network for sale of flags across the country.
Chennai City Region has stocked 4.50 lakhs of national Flags for sale at Post Office counters. Post offices in Chennai City Region have started sale of flags from 01.08.2023. The price of flag sold through post offices is Rs.25/- per flag. The dimension of the flag is 30” x 20”. Flags are available for sale in all 2192 post offices of the Region. The Region has 20 head post offices, 547 sub post offices and 1625 branch post offices.
During the year 2022, a total of 2,79,282 flags were sold in Chennai City Region.
Members of public are requested to contact nearest post office for purchase of flags. They can also purchase the flags online through epost office by visiting www.epostoffice.gov.in. Those who want to order in bulk can also approach the post offices for bulk supply of flags.
