Dr. Salai Jayakalpana, Founder of the Siddha Mudra Global Research Centre, received a special award for “Excellence in Siddha Mudra in the Medical Field” in recognition of her significant contributions and innovative approach to Siddha Mudra practice to spread around the world. The award was presented by Joel Prabhakar, District Officer, MY Bharat Pudukkottai, on behalf of the Government of India’s Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) initiative.
The programme was held at Sri Bharathi Arts and Science College for Women, Kaikurichi, Pudukkottai, and jointly organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports Government of India with Centre of AYUSH; Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli; and SMARTA Academy, Tiruchirappalli. As part of the Mera Yuva Bharat initiative, it focused on Siddha Mudra-based health education, awareness, and practical training.
The event was presided over by Dr. Sevak Vijay, Head of AYUSH & TSI, Government of India, and Senthil Kumar, State Director, MY Bharat, Tamil Nadu. Dr. Meenakshi, Principal of Sri Bharathi Arts and Science College for Women, delivered the welcome address. Namachivayam, Program supervisor, MY Bharat, Pudukottai attended as a Guest of Honor.
Following the award presentation, Dr. Salai Jaya Kalpana led a training session on Siddha Mudra therapy, explaining its core principles and practical applications. The programme witnessed young people and members of the public from more than 35 countries, offering participants an opportunity to learn about Siddha Mudra and its traditional approach to health and well-being. The programme also contributed to strengthening public understanding of India’s traditional health and wellness practices and their contemporary relevance.
Dr. Salai Jaya Kalpana explained the traditional understanding of the five elements of nature (Pancha Bhoothas) and their symbolic association with the five fingers. She also highlighted the value of incorporating Siddha Mudra practices into daily life as part of a holistic approach to physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
The programme brought together dignitaries and representatives Sivakumar, Head of the Department, Centre of AYUSH; Bharathidasan University, and Raja Babu, Associate Professor, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Saravana Kumar, District advisory Committee Member, MY Bharat, Pudukkottai.
The programme featuring Siddha Mudra scientist Dr. Salai Jaya Kalpana, brought together representatives from government institutions, academic organisations, AYUSH initiatives, and the public, promoting wider awareness of Siddha Mudra and traditional approaches to health, wellness, and preventive care.
