The Federation of Tamil Nadu Industry Department Electricity Consumers yesterday went on a procession and submitted a petition to the Collector.

The 430 per cent stage fee hiked to the industry should be withdrawn. The airtime fee should be abolished.

The Tamil Nadu Industrial Electricity Consumers Association hoisted a black flag in the factories yesterday, emphasizing the demands including canceling the multi-year tariff and refraining from increasing the electricity tariff for 2 years. Also, the industry sector wearing black bands had already announced that they would go on a procession and submit a petition to the Collector.

Accordingly, yesterday, Federation of All Trade Unions of Erode District, Erode District Small Industries Association and various business organizations hoisted black flags in their companies and marched from Erode to Sampath Nagar and presented their demands to the Collector in the People's Grievance Day meeting.

Subsequently, administrators V.K.Rajamanickam, V.T. Sridhar and others said, “We have submitted a petition to the Collector insisting on fulfilling the demand as per the decision of our association. The next step will be a hunger strike on the 16th in Chennai in which more than 500 executives of industrial associations from all over Tamil Nadu will participate.
