The International Women’s Day IWD-2024 was celebrated at Combat Vehicles Research & Development Establishment (CVRDE) on 08 March 2024 in a grand manner. On this occasion, several programmes, events, functions were organized by Women’s Cell of CVRDE. The Chief Guest of the event was Dr. Shyamala Ramesh Babu, Founder - Chisel & Evolve and Motivational public speaker. The theme of IWD 2024 is “Count her in: Invest in women. accelerate progress”.
The inaugural function was presided over by Shri. J. Rajesh Kumar, Outstanding Scientist & Director, CVRDE and Chairman Women’s Cell along with Dr. V. Balamurugan, Outstanding Scientist & Associate Director and Chairman Work’s Committee, Smt. Jeyapradha Ganesh, Additional Director & Senior Member, Women’s Cell and Smt. Jayareena Rajesh Kumar, President, Women’s Welfare Association (WWA).
The event was started by lighting the lamp, followed by the welcome address by Smt. Jeyapradha Ganesh, Additional Director & Senior Member, Women’s Cell. During the event, Motivational speech was delivered by the chief guest Dr. Shyamala Ramesh Babu on the IWD 2024 theme. Director, CVRDE & Chairman, Women’s Cell Shri. J. Rajesh Kumar delivered a special address in the IWD 2024 and he highlighted about the various achievements of women in our country. As part of this event, homemade millets were distributed to the CVRDE women fraternity with the message of eating healthy foods.
The afternoon session was dedicated entirely for CVRDE women & women welfare association (WWA) members, wherein, various cultural programs including group and solo dance performance, singing etc. were organized by women cell of CVRDE.
