Voter awareness, Govt welfare schemes outreach programme at Thanjavur

Central Bureau of Communication organized Integrated Communication Outreach Programme on voter awareness, central govt welfare schemes in Thanjavur. On the second day Shri K Ravindran FPA Thanjavur welcomed the gathering. He said that ICDS, Social welfare dept, Agriculture dept, RSETI, Postal departments have set up stalls. 

FPO Tiruchirappalli Shri K Devi Padmanabhan in his presidential speech said that India is largest democracy in the world. Voter Awareness is vital to strengthen democracy and it is duty of every voter to exercise their franchise. Election Commission is providing facilities to senior citizens and differently abled to vote from their home itself . He spoke about importance of education and literacy in progress of nation. He pointed out that Beti Padhao Beti Bachao scheme was introduced to ensure progress of women. He said that Prime Minister has announced last year India will become Viksit Bharat developed nation by 2047. For that everybody especially should be part of nation building. He spoke about importance of nutritious foods and asked students to eat healthy foods. Knowledge is power and he asked students to attain this power for the development of nation. 

Social welfare dept Rural development officer Smt Madhavi spoke about various social welfare schemes for the benefit of girls. She spoke about importance of millets and other nutritious diets. Swami Vimurthananda from Thanjai Ramakrsihna Math spoke on Yoga being accepted globally and how yoga can help students strengthen body and mind. 

Prizes were given to students from Thanjavur Maruthu Pandiyar College, South Alangam School and Allwin School. Cloth bags were distributed to spread the message of environment safeguards by avoiding usage of plastic. Pamphlets and notices on govt welfare schemes were distributed.
