The Department of Banking Technology, School of Management at Pondicherry University proudly presents BANCQUEST'24, a high-profile industry interface event on 29th & 30th of April, 2024 at Hotel Accord, Puducherry.
The theme of BANCQUEST'24 was "Vision Viksit Bharat 2047 - The Role of Banking and Fintech," which reflects a visionary stance on India's economic landscape in the coming decades.
The inauguration of the event was organised on April 29th 2024, with the lighting of the lamp by esteemed dignitaries, Honourable Prof. K. Tharanikkarasu, Vice-Chancellor (i/c) Pondicherry University, Prof. Malabika Deo, Professor & Dean School of Management, Pondicherry University, Shri. Dr.Tiruthankar Patnaik, Chief Economist National Stock Exchange, Mumbai, and Shri.Joseph Amalan, Deputy General Manager of Reserve Bank of India, Chennai.
Prof. Malabika Deo, Dean School of Management, presented the Presidential address followed by Prof. K. Tharanikkarasu, Vice-Chancellor (i/c) of Pondicherry University, gave away the inaugural address. In his speech, he highlighted the dynamic landscape of the technology and mentioned business and technology are inseparable. He also emphasised the need for the students to equip the versatile skills to thrive in diverse professional environments.
Dr. Tiruthankar Patnaik, Chief Economist at the National Stock Exchange in Mumbai spoke about the technology blending with banking and finance lead huge financial transactions and developments by highlighting various statistics to understand huge dimension in the FINTECH domain of India. Shri. Joseph Amalan, Deputy Manager, Reserve Bank of India, in his keynote address spoke on RBI initiatives of past, present and future, starting from central banking to digital currency.
The BANCQUEST'24 event also witnessed the launching of the innovative five-year integrated B.Tech (CSBS) M.B.A program in Computer Science and Business Systems under NEP 2020. By integrating Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) with Master of Business Administration (M.B.A), the curriculum offers students a comprehensive understanding of both technical intricacies and managerial strategies. The Vice-Chancellor (i/c) of Pondicherry University felt delighted to launch this innovative, interdisciplinary five-year integrated program.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Academicians across various disciplines and also Industry Professionals from National Corporation Payment of India, Reserve Bank of India, State Bank of India, National Stock Exchange, Indian Institute Management.
BANCQUEST’24 will include a series of workshops, panel discussions concentrating on subjects such as "India's Economic Power and Capital Market Contribution," "Future Technologies and Fintech Companies in India,", "Digital Payment System - India's Growth Story.", "Vision Viksit Bharat - Role of Indian Banking Sector.", "Destination @ 2047 - Information Security and e-Governance in India", "Changing Face of Cybercrimes in India and Security Challenges in the Cyberspace", "Digital Assets and Digital Currencies: Emerging Trends in Blockchain.", "Future Technologies – The Landscape for Indian Banking System," in the presence of our notable guests.
Prof. Dr. V. Mariappan, Head of the Department, gave the welcome address and sparked up the session by greeting dignitaries, prominent visitors from various disciplines, students, and participants.
Dr. S. Geetha, Professor of the Department of Banking Technology, elaborated on the scope of BANCQUEST'24, and Prof. Dr. S. Prabu, thanked the gatherings.
