As a part of Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program, a rangoli has been drawn by the staff of Tiruchirappalli Postal Region at Tiruchirappalli Railway Junction in coordination with the Tiruchirappalli District Collector under the leadership of Smt. T. Nirmala Devi, Postmaster General, Central Region, Tiruchirappalli.
Various activities conducted by the India Post to promote 100% voting among the public. A pledge was taken by the staff last week at Tiruchiappalli Head Post Office followed by a rally to popularize the message among the public. Further an initiative was made by Central Postal Region, to display a badge with words promoting 100% voting on the uniform of all the delivery staff (Postmen/Postwomen) of Tiruchirappalli Head Post Office. Shri M. Pradeep Kumar, District Collector, Tiruchirappalli district had participated in the events.
In addition to these, to spread out the importance of 100% voting among the larger audience, a special initiative is being carried out the Tiruchirappalli Postal Region. A rangoli with a size of 17.5 ft. x 14.5 ft. emphasizing the importance of 100% voting has been drawn at Tiruchirappalli Railway Junction for public display. The Rangoli with the theme of voter awareness and the importance of casting our vote will act as a promotion tool to ensure 100% voting among the thousands of public and college students (many of them would be 1st time voters) who visit the Railway Station for travel purpose.
The Rangoli is drawn by staff of India Post in coordination with Tiruchirappalli District Collectorate and Southern Railways, Tiruchirappalli Division. The Rangoli would be available for public display till 11th April,2024.
Shri S. Krishnamoorthi, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Tiruchirappalli Division, Assistant Directors, Accounts Officer, Senior Postmaster and other staff of Department of Posts were part of the team who made the Rangoli.
