The Government of Tamil Nadu has announced and implemented various welfare schemes for the poor and middle class. The schemes of the Government which begin in writing have to go through several stages to reach the hands of the people at the grassroots. One of the main objectives of the Government is to plan and implement schemes and to make them accessible to the public.

In this regard, Tamil Nadu Hon’ble Chief Minister MK Stalin has simplified all the departmental schemes by providing various guidelines to reach the public. In particular, it was the practice to go in search of government officials, give their petitions and give grievances to the public and get redressed. But the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, who formulates and implements schemes on a daily basis for the welfare of the people, should go to the officials in search of the people and solve the grievances, he wanted that. At the same time, in the present context, all departments have been made online. As a result, the public has to approach online to avail services related to the sector. At the same time, the downtrodden people in the rural areas face many difficulties in obtaining services along the way.

As a result, they have to depend on others for availing government services. Considering the difficulties faced by the downtrodden and rural masses, the “Makkaludan Muthalvar” scheme has been launched with the aim of making it easier to get government services. Ever since MK Stalin, took over as the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, the petitions submitted by the people have been answered. He is taking prompt action and giving priority to resolving their grievances. In continuation of this, the Chief Minister with the people has launched a pioneering scheme “Makkaludan Muthalvar” to connect the administration with the public. Last year, 18th December, In Coimbatore this scheme was initiated for the Excellence in Urban and Rural Local Bodies. Government services should be made available to the public quickly.

The “Makkaludan Muthalvar” scheme is also being implemented for speedy disposal of petitions sent by the public. Officials of all the departments participate in this programme and receive the petitions directly from the people and appropriate action is taken. Particularly, under this scheme, the departments of Revenue and Disaster Management, Rural Development, Municipal Administration, Adi Dravidar Welfare, Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare, Police, Housing and Urban Development, Labour Welfare and Skill Development, Cooperation, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Department,  Various services are provided to the people by 15 Government Departments including Welfare of Differently Abled Persons, Social Welfare and Women Rights Department. In the first phase, so far 2,058 camps have been conducted.

The petitions received from the people in the camps were processed within 35 days. Accordingly, 8,74,000 petitions have been disposed of to the satisfaction of the people. The people all over Tamil Nadu have been appreciating the Chief Minister and the Government for their benefit. While the people are happy with the resolution of the long pending demands, the scheme will now be extended to the rural people also. The Hon’ble Chief Minister M K Stalin launched the project at a function to be held in Dharmapuri yesterday (11-07-2024). Under this scheme, 15 more Government Departments have been identified and action is being taken to conduct about 2,500 camps covering 12,525 Village across the State.
