The Kargil Victory Day was organized by Dr.P. Irene Vethamoni Dean (Horticulture) Horticultural College and Research Institute, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore on 26.07.2024 by 4.00 PM.
The Dean (Horticulture) presided over the function and highlighted the sacrifices made by the Army Officers during the Kargil war to save the nation. Commander L.Rajkumar, Logistics Officer from INS Agrani, Coimbatore delivered special address and interacted with the students and faculty members. During his special address, he emphasized the importance of Naval forces during the Kargil war to support the army forces to protect the country. He also motivated the students to join in the defence forces to serve the country.
He explained the schemes of recruitment being made in the defence forces. A total of 70 students and 10 faculty members were participated in this function at conference hall, HC&RI, TNAU, Coimbatore. The students performed on patriotic songs and speech during this events. Dr.A.Sankari, Professor (Horticulture) welcomed the gathering and Dr.M.Prabhu, Associate Professor (Horticulture) proposed vote of thanks.
