Central Bureau of Communication under Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting is organizing integrated Communication Outreach Programme ICOP on govt welfare schemes at Coimbatore from August 27 to 31. On the third day, Thursday the sessions were held on banking finance, environment safeguard , nutrition and Swachtha.
In the morning session Shri S R Chandrasekharan TA CBC Coimbatore welcomed. Shri K Devi Padmanabhan FPO CBC Trichy in his keynote address spoke about importance of banks in the progress of nation. He said that integrated communication outreach programmes are organized to create awareness about govt welfare schemes to public. He said that National Sports Day is celebrated on the birth anniversary of hockey wizard Major Dhyanchand. He urged students to become job givers by using start up and stand up schemes of the government.
Shri L Eswaramoorthy Senior Manager Canara Bank Coimbatore spoke about banking finance and loans. He spoke about precautions to be taken on fake messages regarding bank loans. He urged students to become entrepreneurs by utilizing bank loans.
Shri K Kalidoss president Osai Environment NGO Coimbatore spoke about importance of environment safeguard. He spoke about protecting ecosystem and spoke about importance of planting trees for the future. Smt Suganya Sub Inspector of Coimbatore City Police Station spoke about prevention of cyber crime. She urged students to be cautious about providing information like Aadhar phone number email address to dubious online apps. She pointed out many persons are duped by online fraudsters and asked to approach nearby police station and register complaints. Prizes were given to students. Cloth bags were distributed to create awareness about protecting environment by avoiding usage of plastics.
In the evening village awareness campaign was held at Valukkuparai Village Madukkarai Block Coimbatore in coordination with Rathinam College of Arts and Science Eachanari Coimbatore. TA CBC Chennai Shri Chandrasekharan welcomed. FPO Trichy Shri K Devi Padmanabhan in his keynote address stressed importance of cleanliness Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. He urged people to utilize household toilets and avoid open defecation to prevent spread of diseases.
Madukarai ICDS Supervisor Smt Madilakshmi addressed about importance of nutrition and healthy food habits. Shri Saravanakumar, NSS Programme officer Rathinam College of Arts and Science Eachanari Coimbatore, Maths dept lecturers Smt Chithra, Smt Jecintha coordinated. Prizes were given to students who won in competition. Plant saplings were distributed to signify ek Ped Maa Ke Naam call to safeguard environment.
Shri M Murali TA CBC Chennai, Shri M Thyagarajan FPA CBC Dharmapuri, Shri S Arunkumar FPA Trichy coordinated the event.
