BIS Chennai organized a Walkathon at Thiruvallur

Bureau of Indian Standards is a statutory body functioning under the aegis of Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Government of India. It operates various schemes like Product Certification (ISI mark), Management Systems Certification, Hall Marking of Gold and Silver Jewellery/Artefacts and Laboratory Services for the benefit of the industry and in turn aiming at consumer protection.


Bureau of Indian Standards, Chennai Branch Office organized a Walkathon at Thiruvallur Collectorate on 07 August 2024 to create awareness on Hallmarking of Gold and Silver Jewellery in the district.


District Revenue Officer Shri.Rajkumar, FLAGGED OFF THE EVENT. During the programme, District Collectorate Officials were also present.


80 Students (Manak Mitras) from S.A. Engineering College, Tiruvallur; Dharmamurthi Rao Bahadur Calavala Cunnan Chetty Hindu College, Pattabiram; Vel Tech Multi Tech Dr. Rangarajan Dr. Sakunthala Engineering College, Tiruvallur; St.Peter's College of Engineering and Technology, Tiruvallur enthusiastically participated in the walkathon.


Officials of Bureau of Indian Standards Smt. G Bhavani, Scientist F/Senior Director and Head, Bureau of Indian Standards, Chennai Branch Office and several officials of Bureau of Indian Standards participated in the walkathon.
