The Meeting of Annual General Body of Vivekananda College Alumni Association was held in the prayer hall of the College on 31st August 2024. Special guests lit the holy lamp. The programme started with prayer. CA.Sathiyanarayanan, Alumni Association Vice-President gave the welcome address. Thiru.MuraliKrishnan presided the meeting and gave presidential address. Vivekananda College Secretary Swami Vedananda and Kulapathi Swami Adhyatmananda delivered the blessing address.
Vivekananda College Principal Dr.T.Venkatesan spoke about the developmental activities of the college. The Secretary of the association CA.Sankar spoke about the events of the last year of the association. With the approval of the members of the association, Dr. Pattinathar, Treasurer presented a formal report on the income and expenditure account and Balance Sheet of the association.
New officers of the association were elected. As the new president CA. SathyaNarayanan, Dr.Deenadayalan as the new Secretary, Mr. Loganathan and Mr. SureshKannan as the new Vice-Presidents, Mr. SaiSukumaran and Dr. Gobi as the new Assistant Secretaries were unanimously elected.
The members of the association discussed their suggestions and expectations one by one. Former Principal Dr. Ramamurthy, Former Vice principal Jeyanalan, Former Professor of Economics Dr. Jayapalan, Former English Professor Dr. Venkatasubbu, Former Professor of Zoology Dr.Nattudurai and Former Professor of Chemistry Dr.Rajendran attended and highlighted the meeting.
Prizes were awarded on behalf of the association to the students who secured the highest marks in the course. Alumni Association Coordinator Dr. Vadivel Raja delivered the vote of thanks.
College Internal Quality Assurance Cell Coordinator Dr. SatishBabu, Gurukul Coordinator Dr. Chandrasekaran, Professors of Department of Commerce Computer Applications Mr. Karthikeyan and Dr. Marimuthu, Zoology Professor Dr. Kamatchi, Assistant Professor of Commerce (CA) Dr.Premanantham and Assistant Professor of Chemistry Department Mr. Dharmanandam coordinated the arrangements for the association meeting. The General Body Meeting of Vivekananda College Alumni Association ended happily with closing prayer.
In the afternoon session, alumni of respective departments addressed about the higher education opportunities and career opportunities to the students of respective departments.
