National Institute of Technology Puducherry 11th Convocation

The National Institute of Technology Puducherry (NITPY) proudly held its 11th Convocation ceremony at 4.00 PM on 23/09/2024 at the KI RAA Auditorium, VO Chidambaram Pillai Administrative Block. The event was graced by Shri. K. Kailashnathan, Hon. Lt. Governor of Puducherry, who served as the Chief Guest and presented medals and degrees to the graduates. Special guests included the Hon’ble Minister for Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs,  Shri P.R.N. Thirumurugan, Dr. D. Manikandan, the District Collector of Karaikal, and  Shri Manish, I.P.S., SSP, Karaikal.


In his address, Shri. K. Kailashnathan emphasized the importance of fostering a passion for science and technology among youth, highlighting the need for contributing to society. He underscored the significance of education and the role it plays in building unity and integrity. 


The ceremony was presided over by the Director of the institute, Prof. Makarand Madhao Ghangrekar, alongside the Registrar Dr. S. Sundaravarathan. The members of the Board of Governors and the senate of NIT Puducherry, other dignitaries and faculty and staff were also present.


Director in the presidential address, congratulated the graduating students and highlighted the institute's significant achievements, including its ranking in the top 100 engineering institutes as per the NIRF 2024. He also outlined ongoing infrastructural developments, including the new Composite Engineering Block and the inauguration of the Science Technology Innovation Hub. He emphasized the institute's commitment to academic excellence, research initiatives, and student placement success, encouraging graduates to embody the values learned at NIT Puducherry as they move forward in their careers.


A total of 230 undergraduate students, 42 postgraduate students, and 25 research scholars received their degrees under different disciplines.
