An awareness program on toilet hygiene was conducted for the students of Avvaiyar Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Pavoorchatram, organized by the school’s management committee in partnership with the Voice of Tenkasi Foundation. The school, with over 1,600 girls enrolled in both Tamil and English mediums, has adequate toilet and water facilities. The aim of the program was to encourage responsible usage of toilets and to promote good hygiene habits among students.
The event began with a welcome speech from the Head master, Ms. Jansi Rani. Ayurvedic doctor Afila, the chief guest, spoke to the students about maintaining cleanliness, proper toilet habits, the health risks of unhygienic practices, and the potential impact on their future well-being. Voice of Tenkasi Foundation's COO, Ms. Karunya, led the students in a pledge to promote responsible toilet usage.
Additionally, School management committee member Mr.Samuthra Senthil discussed the health risks associated with fast food consumption. The program concluded with a vote of thanks from the Assistant head master, Ms. Jagatha.
