The Centre for Justice through Technology (CJT) at Vinayaka Mission’s Law School, in collaboration with the Madras Management Association, successfully organized a thought-provoking lecture as part of its series, Discourses on Digitization of Courts. The event, titled “Discourses on Digitization of Courts: Experiences from Kerala”, took place at the Madras Management Association Auditorium from 11 AM to 1 PM.
The event was organized with the able mentorship and blessing of Dr A.S. Ganesan, Hon’ble Chancellor, Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation- Deemed to be University, Salem. The highlight of the event was an inspiring address by Justice A. Muhamed Mustaque, who provided a comprehensive overview of the Digitization Initiative in Kerala Courts, with a particular emphasis on the pioneering 24*7 Open and Networked Court in Kollam. Justice Mustaque’s insights offered a valuable perspective on the transformative impact of technology on judicial processes, sparking engaging discussions among attendees.
The program commenced with a warm welcome by Dr. Ananth Padmanabhan, Dean of Vinayaka Mission’s Law School, who set the tone for the session by emphasizing the importance of leveraging technology in judicial systems. Mr. Antony R. Julian, Advocate, Supreme Court of India and Convener, Steering Committee, Centre for Justice through Technology delivered the opening remarks, highlighting the benefits of digitization and the need for further adoption of technology in Courts.
Ms. Sinjini Sen and Ms. Amrita Nambiar, Faculty Coordinators of CJT, VMLS spearheaded the seamless organization of the lecture. Their meticulous planning ensured a smooth and impactful event.
The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by Mr. Tathagat Sharma, Assistant Professor of Law, Vinayaka Mission’s Law School, who acknowledged the contributions of the esteemed speaker, the organizing teams, and the engaged audience.
The audience comprised a dynamic mix of law students, practicing lawyers, members of law firms, academia, and public-spirited individuals, who participated actively in the discussions, reflecting a collective commitment to embracing technological advancements in the judiciary.
