The 5th state-level chess tournament for children was held on November 24, 2024, at AAA College of Engineering and Technology, Sivakasi. Organized by Scholars Mate Chess Academy, the event saw enthusiastic participation from around 415 children from various parts of Tamil Nadu.
The tournament was inaugurated by the college principal, Dr. M. Sekar. Grandmaster Akash Ganesan, along with Tamil Nadu Scholars Mate Chess Academy's Joint Secretaries, Mr. Jagadeesh and Mr. Kannan, graced the event as special guests.
In his keynote address, Grandmaster Akash Ganesan emphasized the importance of patience for success, likening life to a game of chess. He encouraged participants to work hard with determination, stating that every competition provides a unique opportunity to grow and excel.
Trophies and certificates were awarded to the winners by Dr. M. Sekar and Grandmaster Akash Ganesan, celebrating their achievements. The event was expertly coordinated by the Virudhunagar Little Japan Children’s Chess Tournament Committee.
