The Department of Social Sciences of Lady Doak College organized the ninth lecture of Dr. Elizabeth George Endowment Lecture Series on 28th November 2024. The lecture series was instituted in memory of Dr. Elizabeth George, former faculty of the department in 2016.
Rev.Dr. Maher Spurgeon, Consultant, Director of South Asia, United Board for Christian Higher Education Association delivered the endowment lecture on the theme ‘Servant Leadership: The Nexus for Building People’. Dr. Spurgeon mentioned that the secret of Servant Leadership begins with practicing the 5As - Availability, Approachability, Adaptability, Ability and Accountability. Around 150 students and faculty members participated in the lecture.
The Introductory remarks were given by the Principal and Secretary Dr. Beulah Jeyashree focusing on the accolades and legacy of former faculty Dr. Elizabeth George. Dr. Joyce Georgina John, Assistant Professor and Head of the department welcomed the gathering. Ms. Vidhya Lakshmi R., Assistant Professor introduced the Chief Guest and Ms. Amy Pavithra, Assistant Professor, delivered the vote of thanks. The event was organized well with the support of the institution and all faculty members of the Department of Social Sciences.
