The 76th Republic Day celebration was held in TNAU on 26th January 2025. Hon. Colonel Dr. V. Geethalakshmi, Vice Chancellor, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) unfurled the national flag and delivered the Republic Day address.
The Vice Chancellor in her 76th Republic Day address highlighted the theme of Republic Day 2025 ”Golden India – Heritage and Development” to encapsulate India’s progress in various sectors. She briefed about the contribution of TNAU towards achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and emphasized on implementing it to the best level.
She appreciated all the faculty members and researchers of TNAU for bagging the National Water Award, several Best Centre Awards under ICAR including the Centre of Excellence for Climate and Disaster Resilient Agriculture. TNAU also implemented the Semmai Madhar Women Empowerment Programme and has provided financial assistance to all PG and Ph.D. students for research. TNAU has developed more than 100 climate resilient varieties and various technologies for the benefit of the farmers.
The University Officers, Scientists, Staff, Students, NCC cadets and NSS volunteers of TNAU campus took part in the celebrations.
