Kalasalingam University Hosts State-Level Seminar on "IoT Applications for Rural Development"

At Kalasalingam University, The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering , in association with Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA),  and in collaboration with the Regional Coordinating Institute, Gandhigram Rural Institute (DTBU), organized a one-day State-Level Seminar on "IoT Applications for Rural Development: Empowering UBA Gram Panchayats."  


The Chancellor Dr. K. Sridharan presided. The Vice President Dr. S. Shasi Anand inaugurated the seminar.


The Vice Chancellor Dr. S. Narayanan , and The Registrar Dr. V. Vasudevan  and  Dr. A. Samson Nesaraj Director- S.A, felicitated.


Dean Dr. P. Sivakumar , and HoD Dr. J. Charles Pravin addressed.


Dr. B. Perumal, UBA Coordinator,  detailed of the seminar.


The  distinguished speakers:


Dr. K. Ravichandran, UBA Regional Coordinator,  elaborated on UBA’s initiatives for rural development.


Mr. G. Simiyon, A.D, MSME-DFO, Tirunelveli discussed funding schemes under the Ministry of MSME, Government of India.


Mr S. Shanmugasundaram Former E.D, NLC  shared  on sustainable rural development practices.


Dr. N. V. Sugathan, Principal, SK Homeopathy Medical College, Kulasekharam spoke about the role of homeopathy in rural healthcare.


Dr. D. Ganesha Perumal and Mr. B. Pradeep Raja spoke on IoT applications in agricultural drones.



The event also showcased UBA-funded projects presentations and innovative student project exhibitions, reinforcing the role of IoT in agricultural , and rural healthcare.


50 participants from various regions of Tamil Nadu actively engaged in discussions, project presentations, and exhibitions.
