A felicitation ceremony was held to honor 3rd-grade student Magizhini (8) from the Government Primary School in Pillayarpatti, near Thiruppathur, Sivagangai district, for securing the first place in the state-level art festival competition.
The 2024-2025 art festival competitions, organized by the school education department, were held at the Anna Centenary Library in Chennai. For the first time, students from grades 1 to 5 were allowed to participate. In the speech competition category, Magizhini, a 3rd-grade student from Pillayarpatti Government Primary School, won first place at the state level.
Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, along with Ministers Ma. Subramanian, P.K. Sekarbabu, and Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, as well as Chennai Mayor R. Priya, felicitated her with a trophy and certificate.
Following this, a special honor event was held at the Pillayarpatti Karpaga Vinayagar Temple’s primary school, where the temple secretary, Pitchaikkurukkal, presented a cash prize of ₹10,000 to the student. Temple trustees C.D. Palaniappan, Nachchanthupatti Kumarappa Chettiyar, and Somasundara Kurukkal attended and congratulated the student.
The school’s headmaster, S. Rengarajan, welcomed everyone, and teacher Sweeta delivered the vote of thanks.
