Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation - Deemed to be University (VMRF DU), successfully hosted the VMRF 2nd Annual Librarians Meet and Training Programme on January 30 and 31, bringing together library professionals from all its constituent institutions located at Salem, Puducherry, Karaikal, and Paiyanoor under one roof. This two-day event, held at Vinayaka Missions Chennai Campus, aimed to foster collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and professional development among library professionals.
The event was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. A Nagappan, Registrar of VMRF DU, who delivered the presidential address. He underscored the evolving role of librarians, positioning them as departmental leaders responsible for driving innovation and enhancing the visibility of libraries as dynamic hubs of knowledge and engagement. In the welcome address, Mr. Rajasekaran P, Deputy Registrar of VMRF DU, outlined the Vision 2030 of VMRF, emphasizing the critical role libraries will play in supporting academic excellence and fostering innovation across all disciplines.
Driving the initiative, Prof. Buddhi Prakash Chauhan, Advisor, VMRF Libraries, former Founder Librarian & former Library Director of O.P. Jindal Global UniversityMr. Jayaram Gouda, Librarian, O.P. Jindal Global University, Sonipat: Conducted a practical and insightful session on Koha, Ms. Hemalatha Manu Anand, MD, Panacea Valley Consulting: Delivered an engaging session on official communication and etiquette, The closing session featured a valedictory address by Dr. Ananth Padmanabhan, Dean, Vinayaka Missions Law School, who commended the efforts of the organizing committee The session concluded with the distribution of certificates and mementos to all attendees.
