The 20th annual day celebration of R.M. Meyyappa Chettiar Matriculation School in Keelasevalpatti, near Thiruppathur in Sivagangai district, was held the day before yesterday.
The event was presided over by Kundrakudi Ponnambala Adigalar. He honored students who secured the top three ranks in the previous academic year's 10th-grade public examinations. Student Sameera, along with students Lingesh and Muthukumarasamy, received awards and certificates.
School trustee S.M. Palaniappan welcomed the gathering. Former MLA Rama Subburam and school secretary Gunalan presided over the event. Pichai Gurukkal, representing the Pillayarpatti Karpaga Vinayagar Temple administrative committee, blessed the students and delivered a congratulatory speech.
Former Union Council Chairman Sathiyamoorthy, former Keelasevalpatti Panchayat President Azhagu Manikandan, advocate Murugesan, and Parent-Teacher Association President Gandhi also extended their best wishes.
Teacher Kalaivani presented the annual report. The event featured cultural performances by students. Finally, the school principal, Palaniappan, delivered the vote of thanks.
