Combining moments of pride with a sense of purpose and progress, India’s VKC organised a grand celebration honouring its extended family of dealers for the largest such event in Malaysia — #VKCGlobalConfluence2025.
Spread over five days, the event, which was the largest international network meet ever by an Indian footwear brand, was packed with fun, learning and celebrations. Hosted at the iconic AvaniSepang Goldcoast Resort and supported by the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau, the event highlighted India’s VKC’s commitment to innovation, inclusivity and deep-rooted partnerships.
“The dream we started in 1984 has grown into something far bigger than we imagined. Today, that dream has reached the world stage. This is not just the India’s VKC Global Confluence 2025 — it is a celebration of what India’s VKC stands for: purpose, partnership, and progress,” said Mr. VKC MammedKoya, Founder and Chairman of India’s VKC. “Hosting this event on a global stage was a bold move, and the overwhelming response affirms our belief that Indian brands can lead with pride and innovation,” he added
The highlight of the confluence was the global unveiling of India’s VKC’s new footwear line, Go Planet-D by Debongo, which is the world’s first 100% recyclable footwear brand, in the august presence of Mr. Mohammad Isa bin Abdul Halim, Director of Meetings Support and Incentive Division, Malaysia.
Speaking at the launch of Go Planet-D by Debongo, Mr V K C Razak, Managing Director, India’s VKC, who designed the world's first 100% sustainable footwear, said: “With the launch of Go Planet-D, we’ve taken a meaningful step toward a greener tomorrow. We’re proud to set a new benchmark in eco-conscious footwear and showcase Indian innovation to the world.”
Annually, of the roughly 23 billion pairs of shoes manufactured globally, about 22 billion pairs of shoes end up discarded, usually in landfills. An average footwear comprises over 40 different parts, made of different materials, including plastics derived from petrochemicals such as polyurethane (PU), ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC), which are often used in the soles. It takes about 30-40 yearsfor just one pair of shoes to decompose. However, the soles made of PU, EVA and PVC are non-biodegradable and end up releasing toxic compounds into the soil.
What also sets apart the Go Planet-D by Debongo footwear line are the customer incentives, through its Return & Reward Programme. Customers who purchase Go Planet-D by Debongo footwear can, after usage when it’s time to discard, schedule a pick-up through the VKC Group’s online platform to return the used footwear. This will then be inspected by the company’s team, which, based on the level of wear and tear, will offer reward points accordingly to the customer, who can then use these reward points for their next purchase of Go Planet-D by Debongo footwear.
The confluence also showcased over 1,000 new footwear designs from India’s VKC’s portfolio to meet the evolving needs of global consumers—from affordable everyday wear to fashion-forward collections. Through immersive product displays, strategy sessions and keynote speeches, dealers gained a first-hand look at India’s VKC’s future-ready approach to design, sustainability and customer engagement.
The event culminated with a grand awards ceremony where the company honoured its most dedicated partners for their contribution, loyalty and excellence.
