The Science Instrumentation Centre and the Research and Development (R & D) Cell of Lady Doak College organized a Summer Internship on Analytical and Instrumentation Techniques in Sciences for Undergraduate and Postgraduate, Science students. This hands-on training programme is designed to provide participants with practical exposure to advanced laboratory instruments and analytical techniques from Departments of Botany, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Physics and Zoology.
The inauguration was held on May 19th, 2025, with Dr. R. Beulah Jeyashree, Principal and Secretary of Lady Doak College, addressing the participants. She highlighted the importance of practical learning in advancing scientific knowledge and encouraged the participants to make the most of this valuable opportunity.
Participants include Undergraduate and Postgraduate students of Lady Doak College, along with students from other reputed institutions like Thassim Beevi Abdul Kader College for Women, Ramanathapuram, The American College, Meenakshi Govt. College for Women, Madura College, and Thiagarajar College, Madurai. This diverse group of students fosters interdisciplinary learning and collaboration.
The sessions are conducted by experienced faculty resource persons and department heads, through a blend of lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on training with state-of-the-art analytical instruments. The internship runs daily from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will continue until June 6, 2025. This programme reflects Lady Doak College’s dedication to integrating academic knowledge with practical expertise, equipping students for future scientific research and professional careers.
