Lady Doak College celebrated its 59th Graduation Day on June 13th , 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the Golden Jubilee Auditorium. The ceremony commenced with a prayer by Dr. Jessie Ranjitha Jebaselvi C., Chaplain, followed by the "Tamizh Thai Vazhthu."
Dr. Beulah Jeyashree R., Principal & Secretary commenced the Graduation Day ceremony where described the graduation day as a time for reflection, recognition, and deep joy. Dr. R. Nimma Elizabeth, Vice-Principal, welcomed the gathering and introduced the Chief Guest, Rev. Dr. C. Joe Arun, SJ, Chairman, Tamil Nadu State Minorities Commission, Director & Professor of Marketing & HR, Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA), Loyola College Campus, Chennai. Dr. R. Beulah Jeyashree, Principal and Secretary, presented the College's Annual Report, highlighting the significant achievements of the past academic year.
Rev. Dr. C. Joe Arun, SJ delivered an inspiring Graduation address. Being a visionary leader, academician, and social reformer, he is widely recognised both nationally and internationally for his innovative work in education and leadership development. He effortlessly blends academic excellence with the mission of creating transformational leaders committed to social justice and community development, particularly through initiatives like ZIBA in Tirunelveli. Known for his calm yet compelling presence, he is a reformer at heart—passionate about student welfare, equity, and inclusive progress. As an extraordinary orator, accomplished lyricist, and composer, his multifaceted talents inspire many. Truly, his life is a story worth listening to—a narrative of purpose, passion, and profound impact.
He highlighted gratitude as a way of life, stressing that every achievement is built not in isolation but through the sacrifices and contributions of many—parents, teachers, and mentors. Drawing on a compelling analogy, he compared the Sea of Galilee, which receives and gives life-giving water, with the Dead Sea, which receives but does not give, resulting in lifelessness. The message was clear: Gratitude must lead to giving back.
Quoting Martin Luther King Jr., he reminded the graduates: “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’” Citing role models such as Barack Obama, Abraham Lincoln, Mother Teresa, and Mahatma Gandhi, he urged students to live lives of service and gratitude. Referencing I Thessalonians 5:18, he affirmed: “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”He further drew inspiration from the Jewish community, emphasising their success and contribution to the world, rooted in the value of gratitude—a central message in their way of life.
Rev. Dr. C. Joe Arun, SJ then conferred diplomas upon approximately 1174 graduates during the 59th Graduation Day.
Following the distribution of diplomas, Dr. R. Beulah Jeyashree administered the pledge to the graduates, reinforcing their commitment to uphold the values and ethics instilled in them by the institution. The ceremony officially concluded with the dissolution of the graduation ceremony.
In addition, some students were awarded Endowed Prizes for their outstanding proficiency in their respective subjects. Ms. Lorraine Regi M, former Student President (Aided), shared her reflections on their time at the college and expressed gratitude in the vote of thanks.
The Graduation Day ceremony concluded with the National Anthem.
