In a landmark initiative to make the joy of learning accessible to every child, Payir Trust, in partnership with Amagi, has launched Aarvam, an exploratorium dedicated to nurturing scientific curiosity and creativity among children from underserved communities.

Located in Thenur village, one of the most remote areas in Trichy district, Aarvam serves as a multi-disciplinary learning laboratory for students from government and low-income schools across 20+ villages. The hands-on learning experience is thoughtfully designed around the Samacheer Kalvi (Tamil Nadu State Board) curriculum. Students will participate in 80 hours of learning throughout the academic year.

Senthil Kumar Gopalan, Founder of Payir, stated, “Curiosity is at the heart of all learning, and with Aarvam, we are creating a space where children can wonder, explore, and grow. This is just the beginning of our endeavour to redefine what education can look like in rural India.”

Speaking on the occasion, Baskar Subramanian, Managing Director and CEO of Amagi, said, “At Amagi, Goodness Wins is our way of showing up for the world. Aarvam reflects that belief, and this exploratorium was made possible because of the philanthropic endeavour of Amagi employees. We are proud to partner with Payir to help nurture curiosity in children and create this space where joyful learning can thrive.”

Aarvam’s curriculum spans STEAM and the Humanities, with a unique integration of Earth Sciences, Space and Maker Labs, Ecology, Arts, and Mathematics, all brought together under one roof. The space is thoughtfully designed with the principles of reduce, reuse, and recycle, aiming to create cost-effective, sustainable, and context-sensitive spaces.
