Pondicherry University celebrated Teachers’ Day on 11 September 2025 with a memorable programme that recognized the dedication and excellence of its faculty members. The event, organized on the University campus, brought together administrators, faculty, staff, and students to honor the invaluable role of teachers in shaping society. The celebration began with a warm welcome by Dr. K. Tharanikkarasu, Coordinator, IQAC & Director (SEI&RR), who emphasized the significance of acknowledging faculty achievements in advancing the University’s academic mission. He expressed gratitude to the teaching community for their commitment to quality education and lifelong learning.
The Presidential Address was delivered by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. P. Prakash Babu, who praised teachers as the “true architects of society” whose contributions extend beyond classrooms to inspire generations. He also highlighted the University’s ongoing efforts to foster a culture of academic excellence and innovation. During this occasion, Prof. S. Siva Sathya, Dean, School of Engineering & Technology, who received the prestigious National Best Teacher Award – 2025 was also honored.
In addition, 43 faculty members from diverse disciplines were felicitated for their excellence in teaching, and mentorship. Their citations showcased achievements ranging from impactful publications to innovative pedagogy and community engagement. The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Kamalaveni, Associate Professor and Head of the Centre for European Studies, who acknowledged the collective efforts of the team of IQAC, and reaffirmed the University’s commitment to advancing quality education, research, and social responsibility.
