The Consulate General of Malaysia and Tourism Malaysia Chennai launched “VMY2026: Experience the Magic of Malaysia”, a lively two-day festival at Express Avenue Mall, to promote Visit Malaysia Year 2026 (VMY2026) and strengthen Malaysia–India tourism ties.
The event turned the mall into a “mini Malaysia” with cultural performances, Teh Tarik and Roti Canai demonstrations, batik displays, and get to taste some authentic Malaysian cuisines. Highlights included a concert by Malaysian singer Zubir Khan and exclusive travel offers from AirAsia (Official Airline Partner), IndiGo, Pick Your Trail, Akshaya India, and Madura Travels.
Consul General Mr. K. Saravana Kumar said the activation celebrated Malaysia–India friendship and cultural connection. Tourism Malaysia Chennai Director Hishamuddin Mustafa added that collaborations with airlines such as AirAsia, Malaysia Airlines, Batik Air, and IndiGo will help attract record Indian visitors in 2026.
Tourism Malaysia Chennai extended appreciation to all partners and agencies for their support in making the event a success and a vibrant start to Visit Malaysia Year 2026.
