Porter, India’s leading digital goods transport agency, has announced its entry into Madurai, strengthening its mission to enable efficient, reliable, and hassle-free goods movement for the city’s growing business and MSME ecosystem. The company has launched its services with two-wheeler logistics in the first phase and plans to expand with larger vehicle categories such as three-wheelers and Tata Ace in the coming months.
Madurai, known for its strong MSME base, garment manufacturing, and textile clusters, presents a significant opportunity for Porter. The city’s dense markets and wholesale trade hubs drive high demand for dependable last-mile logistics. Porter’s technology-led platform aims to address inefficiencies in the fragmented supply chain by improving productivity, reducing costs, and enabling scalable operations with features like multi-city access and digital invoicing.
Speaking on the launch, Ankit Dwivedi, VP – Expansion, Porter, highlighted that MSMEs are central to economic activity and require dependable goods movement. Porter has onboarded 500 driver-partners in Madurai, with plans to scale this to 7,000–8,000 within the first year. Founded in 2014, Porter now serves over 30 lakh MSMEs and 6 lakh driver-partners monthly across 41 cities, supported by a 2,600-member team, and continues to strengthen India’s logistics ecosystem while expanding internationally.
