Coimbatore Collector Receives 720 Petitions at Public Grievance Redressal Meeting

A Public Grievance Redressal Day meeting was held yesterday at the Coimbatore District Collectorate, where District Collector PaVan Kumar G. Giriyappanavar, IAS, received petitions from members of the public and directed concerned officials to take swift action on them.


The meeting was attended by District Revenue Officer S. Madhuranthagi, Social Security Scheme Sub-Collector Vaaniletsumi Jegadammal, District Backward Classes Welfare Officer Lakshmi, Personal Assistant to the Collector (Agriculture) Anandakumar, TAHDCO General Manager Ranjith Kumar, Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Officer Manimegalai, District Differently-Abled Welfare Officer Vasanth Ramkumar, and other government officials.


During the meeting, the public submitted petitions related to old-age pension, transfer of land records, new family ration cards, house-site pattas, and various other welfare issues.


A total of 720 petitions were received, including:


506 petitions seeking free housing and house-site pattas,

13 petitions related to employment opportunities, and

201 petitions concerning other grievances.


The Collector forwarded the petitions to the respective departmental officials and instructed them to ensure timely action within the prescribed period.


On the occasion, the District Collector also distributed Sanitation Workers Welfare Board identity cards to two beneficiaries through TAHDCO. In addition, he handed over the authorization order and keys for the administration and maintenance of a newly constructed Village Knowledge Centre, built at a cost of ₹1.27 crore in S.P. Vadugapalayam, Sencheripudur village, Sulur Taluk, to members of the Azhagumurugan Women's Self-Help Group.
