World Environment Day was celebrated at Mannar Thirumalai Naicker College on Friday, June 5, 2026, with a series of awareness activities aimed at promoting environmental conservation among students.
The programme was presided over by Principal Dr. Ramasubbaiah. College Chairman Vijayaraghavan, Honorary Chairman Engineer Rajagopal, and Secretary Engineer Sridhar were present on the occasion.
Greetings and special addresses were delivered by Self-Financing Wing Director Prabhu, Dean of Student Welfare Dr. Alagesan, and Student Welfare Extension Activities Coordinator Silambarasan.
As part of the World Environment Day celebrations, the Principal planted saplings on the college campus and administered an environmental awareness pledge to the students. A total of 325 students participated in the programme and received saplings, which they later planted in public places as part of the awareness initiative.
The event arrangements were coordinated by Environmental Club Coordinator Harivishnu. The programme emphasized the importance of environmental protection and encouraged students to actively contribute to creating a greener and more sustainable future.
