The Broadcast Media Cinema Expo (BMCE) 2026 concluded successfully at the Chennai Trade Centre, marking the end of three action-packed days dedicated to the latest advancements in broadcasting, cinema, OTT, content creation and production technologies. Held alongside the 26th edition of Image Today Asia, the event attracted thousands of industry professionals, creators and technology enthusiasts from across India.
The expo was inaugurated by renowned cinematographer P.C. Sreeram, ISC, along with eminent personalities including Manoj Paramahamsa, Chairman, Tamil Nadu Government M.G.R. Film & Television Institute, R. Rathnavelu, ISC, A. Karthik Raaja, President of the Southern India Cinematographers Association (SICA), and actor Ilavarasu.
More than 60 exhibitors showcased cutting-edge solutions spanning broadcast infrastructure, filmmaking equipment, virtual production, media storage and OTT technologies. Industry leaders including Canon, Grass Valley, RED Digital Cinema, Evertz, Benchmark Broadcast and several others presented innovations that are redefining the future of media production.
The conference sessions served as a major attraction, featuring expert discussions on artificial intelligence, VFX, CGI, election broadcasting, storytelling for digital platforms and the growing popularity of micro dramas. The event also hosted the Cinema Today Short Film Contest, celebrating emerging filmmaking talent.
Complementing BMCE, Image Today Asia 2026 featured over 150 exhibitors representing leading photography and imaging brands, along with workshops, live demonstrations and industry recognition programmes.
