Texmaco Rail & Engineering Limited and Touax Group have strengthened their 15-year partnership by inducting TrinityRail Global, Inc., a subsidiary of Trinity Industries, Inc., into Touax Texmaco Railcar Leasing Private Limited (TTRL). Under the new shareholding structure, Texmaco and Touax will each hold 34%, while TrinityRail will hold 32%. The partners also announced plans to invest around ₹1,800 crore over the next 3–5 years to introduce 100 new freight rakes, with the first board meeting of the newly formed joint venture held on the same day.
Saroj Kumar Poddar, Chairman, Texmaco Rail & Engineering Limited and Adventz Group, said the partnership combines India's manufacturing excellence, Europe's leasing expertise and North America's advanced rail engineering capabilities to build a future-ready rail freight ecosystem. Fabrice Walewski, General Partner & CEO, Touax Group, said the investment will support India's growing freight sector through modern wagon financing and flexible leasing solutions. Patrick Hurst, Chief Investment Officer, TrinityRail, highlighted India's strong rail freight growth potential and said the company will bring global expertise in wagon design, lifecycle optimisation, maintenance, financing and asset management. Indrajit Mookerjee, Vice Chairman, Texmaco Rail & Engineering Limited and Group President, Adventz Group, said the collaboration will strengthen India's railcar leasing ecosystem with innovative and sustainable freight solutions.
The expanded TTRL platform will integrate global expertise in manufacturing, leasing, engineering, maintenance and lifecycle asset management to deliver modern, cost-effective freight transportation solutions. The joint venture aims to support India's rail infrastructure growth, backed by initiatives such as PM Gati Shakti, the National Logistics Policy and the Dedicated Freight Corridors, while contributing to the country's vision of increasing rail's share in freight transportation.
