Tourism Malaysia Chennai, in collaboration with the Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB) and IndiGo, successfully concluded the PCEB – 7 Cities ∞ Opportunities Roadshow 2026 from 6 to 16 July 2026, covering Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Coimbatore, Salem, Madurai, Tiruchirappalli and Chennai. The roadshow brought together more than 520 travel trade partners, including travel agencies, tour operators, MICE planners and corporate travel specialists, to strengthen tourism partnerships and business networking.
Hishamuddin Mustafa, Director of Tourism Malaysia Chennai, encouraged the South Indian travel trade to promote destinations beyond Kuala Lumpur, highlighting Penang, Langkawi, Desaru Coast, Sabah and Sarawak, along with opportunities in MICE, destination weddings, education tourism, premium leisure and community-based tourism. Mr. Ashwin, Chief Executive Officer of Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB), showcased Penang's latest tourism offerings, while IndiGo highlighted its direct connectivity from Chennai to Kuala Lumpur and Penang, and Bengaluru to Kuala Lumpur.
The Chennai finale welcomed more than 100 travel trade partners and was attended by Mr. K. Saravana Kumar, Consul General of Malaysia in Chennai, who reaffirmed the strong tourism relationship between Malaysia and South India. The successful seven-city roadshow strengthened collaboration between Tourism Malaysia Chennai, Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB) and IndiGo, creating new business opportunities and supporting the growth of Indian visitor arrivals for Visit Malaysia 2026.
