UPL Sustainable Agri Solutions has launched Ricebeaux, a smart early post-emergence herbicide for rice, developed after more than 10 years of research and validated through multi-location trials across India's major rice-growing regions. Designed to address rising weed management challenges caused by erratic monsoons and labour shortages, Ricebeaux provides broad-spectrum control of grasses, sedges, and broadleaf weeds through a single application.
Ricebeaux combines Propanil and Penoxsulam with dual modes of action, offering both contact and systemic weed control while helping manage herbicide resistance. The ready pre-mix formulation eliminates the need for tank mixing, ensures excellent crop safety, supports healthy crop growth, and is suitable for transplanted rice and Wet Direct-Seeded Rice (Wet DSR), with application recommended at the 2–3 leaf stage of weeds.
Speaking on the launch, Biswajit Borah, Herbicide Portfolio Lead, UPL Sustainable Agri Solutions, said Ricebeaux reflects UPL's strong R&D capabilities and commitment to delivering innovative, practical, and sustainable solutions that simplify weed management, improve crop safety, and enhance rice productivity. The product is now available across key rice-growing states, including Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu.
