The inauguration of CR Swaminathan Integrated laboratory Block of CRS Memorial Endowment Project was successfully conducted on 10th September 2026, at the Government Higher Secondary School, Sarkar Samakulam, Kovilpalayam, Coimbatore.
Chief guest Pavankumar Giriyappanavar IAS, District Collector, Coimbatore inaugurated the Laboratory Block. K. Krishnapriya, Chief education officer Coimbatore has graced the occasion. The occasion was also attended by CRS Memorial Endowment donors, members of the Residents Awareness Association of Coimbatore (RAAC), and dignitaries, including, G. Soundararajan founder of RAAC and the Chairman of C.R.I. Pumps, R. R. Balsundharam, Chairman - CRS Memorial Endowment Committee, C. Balasubramaniyan, President, RAAC, Smt. Vimala, Headmistress of the School and C R Swaminathan family members Teachers and Students of the School.
The CRS Memorial Endowment, established in memory of the late C. R. Swaminathan, Precedent of RAAC for more than 20 years focuses on addressing critical infrastructure gaps in government schools. The initiative aims to enhance educational opportunities for students from rural and underprivileged backgrounds. The project includes a Most modern Computer Lab, Chemistry Lab, Physics Lab and Biology lab with basic infrastructure and will be a model laboratory Block for the Higher Secondary Schools. The total value of this project is ₹ 1.8 crores.
Key projects undertaken include:
1. Government Higher Secondary School, Sarcar Samakulam, Kovilpalayam: Construction of an Open-Air Auditorium for school assemblies, cultural programs.at a cost of Rs: 70 lakhs.
2. Construction of CR Swaminathan Auditorium and Sports Hall at Government Higher Secondary School, Vagarampalayam at a cost of Rs: 1.2 Crores.
These projects aim to create an enriching educational environment for rural and underprivileged students.
