The Erode District Collector, S. Kandhasamy, inaugurated the Kolu Dolls Exhibition and sales at the Poompuhar Sales Centre, Mettur Road, Erode, on September 28, 2026.
- The exhibition is organized by the Tamil Nadu Government Enterprise, Poompuhar Sales Centre, Erode.
- It will be held from September 28, 2026 to October 31, 2026.
- Various dolls made of paper pulp and clay are displayed, including Lakshmi, Ganesh, Saraswati, Durga, Dashavatara, Ashta Lakshmi, Meenakshi Kalyanam, Srinivasa Kalyanam, Panchabootha Sthalams, Navagraha set, 18 Siddhars set, village women set, Tulasi Madam, Ramar Sethu Bridge, Hanuman Sanjeevini Hill, Geeta Upadesam, marriage sets, school set, Tirupati, Vishwaroopam set, Chotta Bheem set, Motu Patlu set, Marapachi dolls, vegetables and fruits set, and many more traditional and modern dolls.
- Dolls are priced between ₹60 and ₹20,000.
- A 10% discount is offered on all Kolu dolls.
The exhibition is also being held at the Poompuhar Sales Centre located at Texvalley Global Market from September 28, 2026 to October 31, 2026.
The public is requested to visit the exhibition, purchase handicraft items, and encourage the artisans.
During the inauguration, Mrs. Malathi, Manager of Poompuhar Sales Centre, along with officials from related departments, participated in the event.
