Filmmaker and cinematographer Guganesan Sonaimuthu, who was the chief guest, formally inaugurated the Media Club at an event held on the college campus.
The primary objective of the Media Club is to provide students with basic knowledge and practical skills in various areas, including the media and film industries, news gathering, interviewing, news production, content sharing, visual presentation, video production, short-film making, editing and social media management.
Through the club, students will receive training to gain first-hand knowledge of how the media industry functions and develop the skills required to explore career opportunities in the media and film sectors.
Addressing the students, Guganesan Sonaimuthu stressed that educational qualifications alone are not sufficient to succeed in the media and film industries. He said self-confidence, continuous learning, willingness to experiment with new ideas and hard work are equally important.
He encouraged students to confidently showcase their talents and advised them not to become discouraged by failures. Instead, they should treat every experience as an opportunity to learn and improve, he said.
His address inspired the students and encouraged them to develop confidence and pursue their aspirations.
Academic Chief S. Rathinavel, Chairman A. Kodeeswaran, Treasurer CA D. Thavamani, College Principal Dr. P. Balamurugan and other administrators and faculty members participated in the programme.
The event was organised by Media Club coordinators R. Brindha, S. Srinivasan, S. Newbigin and S. Keerthana, along with the administrators, faculty members and student representatives.
