Colgate India has set a new record for the ‘Largest Multi-Location Oral Screening Programme’, reaching 3,08,106 students across 547 CBSE-affiliated schools in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry over 10 days from August 17 to 28, 2026. The initiative was conducted in collaboration with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), CBSE and the Indian Dental Association (IDA) Tamil Nadu, with the participation of 2,100 dentists and 29 regional dental colleges.
The initiative covered 40 districts and was officially recognized by the World Records Union (WRU). The programme aimed to promote preventive oral healthcare while also creating awareness around nutrition and substance abuse prevention. The campaign further supports Colgate’s Bright Smiles, Bright Futures® programme, which has reached millions of children across India since its launch in 1991.
Speaking about the initiative, Shilpashree Muniswamappa, Director – ESG & Communications, Colgate-Palmolive (India) Limited, said, “Screening over three lakh students in 10 days demonstrates how public-private partnerships can rapidly scale critical health interventions. While the world record reflects the scale of the initiative, our focus remains on building preventive oral health habits that can benefit the next generation throughout their lives.”
