A two-day departmental summit of Ministers and Secretaries of Women and Child Development from various States and Union Territories will be held in New Delhi on October 8 and 9, organised by the Union Ministry of Women and Child Development. The summit, to be held at Sushma Swaraj Bhavan, will deliberate extensively on key programmes concerning the welfare of women and children, their implementation, and future initiatives.
The summit will focus on four major areas: improving the functioning of Anganwadi centres, strengthening nutrition and early childhood education for children, enhancing the child protection system, and ensuring women’s safety and empowerment. The summit will also serve as an important platform for sharing best practices and experiences of various programmes being implemented across different States.
Social Welfare and Women’s Rights Minister K. Jagadeeswari has travelled to Delhi on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Government to participate in the summit. Her participation will provide an opportunity to share Tamil Nadu’s views and experiences regarding programmes and practices implemented for the welfare of women, children and society, while also learning about best practices and successful initiatives being implemented in other States.
