Dr. Ambedkar 133rd Birth Anniversary was celebrated by Dr. Ambedkar Chair, Annamalai University on 13th April 2023. Dr. K. Soundararajan, Chair Professor, Dr.Ambedkar Chair, Annamalai University welcomed the gathering. The dignitaries and the invitees paid floral tribute to the portrait of Dr. Ambedkar.
Prof. Dr. R. M. Kathiresan, Vice Chancellor of Annamalai University delivered the inaugural address. He addressed the students and highlighted the importance of Education and the contribution of Ambedkar to the society. Dr. R. Singaravel, Registrar, Annamalai University delivered the presidential address and he highlighted Dr.Ambedkar chair activities and advised the students to follow the principles of Babasaheb Ambedkar.
Ms. A.S. Kumari, Chairperson of Tamil Nadu State Women Commission was the chief guest of the programme. She highlighted Dr. Ambedkar’s contribution to womenfolk and narrated various activities of the commission and the grievance redressal mechanism of the commission.
The vice-chancellor and the dignitaries distributed the cash prize and certificates to the prize winners of the Essay competition commemorating Dr. Ambedkar Birth Anniversary.
Dr. S. Chinnamai, chair Professor of Ambedkar chair, Madras University offered the Felicitations.
Dr. V. Rathikarani, Chair Assistant Professor, Dr. Ambedkar Chair delivered the vote of thanks. The Directors, Controller of Examinations, Deans of various Faculties, Heads of various departments, Faculty members, Association office bearers, Non-Teaching staffs and Students participated in the Programme.
