Club inaugration and Fresher's day 2023 at Pushkaram College of Agriculture Sciences

Many students participate in extracurricular activities. Joining or starting a club can provide you with a sense of community, soft skills, networking opportunities, and just a good way to spend your free time. Being a part of a club or a society helps you to gain knowledge, skills and experience in leadership, communication, problem-solving, group development and management, finance, presentation and public speaking.

The purpose of Fresher's Party is to welcome new students in a friendly atmosphere and to encourage their creative impulses to boost their confidence. It is the day where seniors and juniors finally bond and unite to celebrate being part of the college.

Dr. S. Selva Anbarasu, M.Sc.(Agri), Ph.D. Student's Club In-charge, welcomed the Chief Guests of the auspicious day. He insisted the importance of Club Activities and how the students get benefited. He expressed how students should overcome the challenges of the present chaos and confusion with new strategies.

Dr. V. Shanthi, M.Sc.(Agri)„ Ph.D.,  gave special address. She demonstrated the techniques adopted in the various clubs and she explained how it improves ones flexibility and deftness of both physical and mental stability. 

Dr. S. Raguraman, M.Sc.(Agri), Ph.D, FRES presided over the function. He insisted the students to utilize the club activities to learn how to accept the challenges of life and education to move forward towards success. 

M.Ayisha Sidhika, M.Sc.(Horti)., Student's Club Advisor, introduced the Office bearers of various clubs. 

Ms.J.Motley Janice, Club Secretary, Presented the Action Plan for all clubs.

V. BARATH SRINIVAS, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Social Justice & Human Rights,  Pudukkottai District, was the Chief Guest of the day emphasized that identification of the resources that align with their personal and professional interests is essential to embark on a venture. 

K.M.KUMAR, B.st BL, Special Public Prosecutor, was the Guest of Honour of the special day, He stressed the fact that earth provides us natural resources which are crucial for existence of human race and he expressed concern about that the natural resources which are getting depleted due to its misuse by human beings. 

K. YOHAMALAR, M. Com., B.L., MSW, Special Public Prosecutor, Mahila Court, was the Special Guest of the day, She urged the students to get trained in various life skills from various club activities and apply those skills to mobilize the  challenges of life.  

LionDr.K.Rethinam, MJ.F, Chairman - Pushkaram College of Agriculture Sciences addressed the students and motivated them. He inaugurated the club and welcomed the freshers. He highlighted awareness on Global Warming and its impact. In his speech talked about the increase of carbon dioxide levels in the earth’s atmosphere and a result of human activities that have been causing harm to our environment for the past few centuries. He also told that human activities such as gases released from power plants, transportation, and deforestation have resulted in the increase of gases such as carbon dioxide, CFCs, and other pollutants in the earth’s atmosphere. The main question is how can we control the current situation and build a better world for future generations. 

Cultural programmes were performed by the students. 

Mr. A. L. Subash, Club Secretary, Students Clubs, proposed vote of thanks.
